First of all I found it very easy to set up this blog. I have another blogger account so I am here often throughout the week. In regards to the homework (line drawing), I also found that easy and straightforward. I think the assignment made me focus with more concentration as to what I was doing, since we are dealing with different line gradations. (Light to dark etc) I was focused on making all the lines different and not the same but at the same time make it flow.
Since this is the first time I am drawing straight lines that are different, I assume it had something to do with light and dark. Because light and dark play a major role on the outcome of your drawings. If light and dark or shading is not put in the right place then the drawing appears flat with no dimension. I take private painting classes still and this is something thats stressed if you want to make your drawings/paintings look realistic, because it will depend on the total outcome. I think this assignment was done for us to see that there is a big difference whether you press lightly on the pencil with a faint mark or you draw a bold black line, it affects the whole drawing. For example when drawing an object where light is casted you will go lighter and on the dark/shadow part you go with stronger lines. Overall I enjoyed the assignment alot.
